I love this series， but this is my least favourite of the four I’ve read so far。 I LOVED the title， but when I read it was about home renovations I was already less interested。The problem is that the story focuses on Greg’s family （and a lot on his parents）， and not enough on the kids。 When Rowley turned up everything livened up and got a lot funnier。 It’s the kid dynamics that make this series， and when most of the book was spent on the adults it fell a bit flat。I was also distracted by HOW man I love this series， but this is my least favourite of the four I’ve read so far。 I LOVED the title， but when I read it was about home renovations I was already less interested。The problem is that the story focuses on Greg’s family （and a lot on his parents）， and not enough on the kids。 When Rowley turned up everything livened up and got a lot funnier。 It’s the kid dynamics that make this series， and when most of the book was spent on the adults it fell a bit flat。I was also distracted by HOW many WORDS were randomly capitalised。 I like that sort of stress in middle grade books， but this one was such a different style to the others I’d read， and overdone。That’s not to say it isn’t a fun read。 Greg’s embarrassing moments with the builders， for example。 And The Grout！ 。。。more
